A recipient of two AIA design awards, one for architecture and one for interior design, this low profile lineal two-story speculative office building is located on a heavily wooded, gently sloping site. Enhancing the wooded quality of the site, the banded building provides a strong contrast while reflecting a harmonious image. The drop-off area is paved with black African slate which extends into the building's lobby, easing the transition from outside to inside.
Designed and built well before LEED certification emerged as a recognized yardstick for sustainable design, this building embodies many of the current energy saving components that are so critically examined for LEED certification.
