AFCEE (Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment) obtained the services of URS and Blair Remy to program, plan and design the SPDF (Strategic Planning & Development Facility) for a Design/Build RFP that will be used to solicit bids for design and construction of new SPDF utilizing the one step Design/Build method. Blair Remy Corporation, working under URS, coordinated programming and accomplished a sub-area plan and developed floor plans, building elevations, and concept perspective sketches for the SPDF. The workshop was followed by several weeks of off-site concept development to hone the site plan, functional floor plans and building elevations in order to get over-the-shoulder reviews. The information gathered was incorporated by Blair Remy into a Requirements Document (RD). The project scope was increased to include a 12,000 SF multi-purpose and pre-function area. The project is being competed for Design-Build to be awarded in FY09.
